Leigh was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and began dancing at age five. While training locally, she began studies in New York City at Broadway Dance Center, where she trained with Finis Jhung, Cynthia Vallone, Savion Glover, and Frank Hatchett. She received numerous invitations to attend master classes and coaching sessions with ballet luminaries including Franco DeVita and artists and/or teachers with the American Ballet Theatre, Huston Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Pennsylvania Ballet.
In 1995 she began training with Carolyn Trythall and Viktor Yeliohin at Lancaster School of Ballet and with Chet Zercher at Dancer’s Workshop. She currently trains with Nadine Revene at Viktor Yeliohin’s International Ballet Academy.
At age 13, Ms. Grant received her first professional booking in pianist Dino Kartsonakis’ National Christmas Tour, dancing alongside artists from Oklahoma. She has performed The Nutcracker alongside members of the Donetsk Ballet of the Ukraine as a snowflake through Lancaster School of Ballet, and the Pennsylvania Ballet as Clara, with Laurel Dance Company at the Fulton Opera House.
Her repertoire includes soloist roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, and La Boutique Fantasque, Pas de Quartre in Swan Lake, and principal roles in The Dying Swan, and Kitri in Don Quixote. She had a modern role created for her by Kim Jureckson in 2005 for Theater of the Seventh Sister’s Winter Dance Festival. She performed with Creative Works Lancaster in the 24 Hour Plays in October 2017.
She has trained in Lancaster and Philadelphia for acting and has appeared in student films as a dancer and actress. She has appeared as a petite model for shows throughout Pennsylvania.
Ms. Grant holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Theater Studies from The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
